The Inspiration Behind Lou Tide Jewelry

Growing up with severe anxiety, crafting was always something I used to escape my own mind. When I found out I needed surgery I wanted to find something to do to distract my pre-surgery nerves, as well as something to do in recovery. I knew I needed a new craft to help this new anxiety. So the next day I went to the thrift store to see what my next craft could be and I found a bead kit. I instantly started thinking of all the jewelry I could make out of this kit. Which is where this passion started. 

What does "Lou Tide" mean?

Growing up my parents would call me "Maddilouski", and I quite honestly am not sure why. Eventually that got shortened to "Maddilou", which then became "Lou". I was originally going to call this brand "Low Tide Jewelry" but then thought it would be perfect to use Lou in the name to make it a little more personal. 

What Makes Loutide Jewelry Unique?

Lou Tide Jewelry is made from 18k PVD Plated Gold. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) utilizes a titanium nitride that provides an extremely durable coating. PVD coatings are more resistant to corrosion from sweat and regular wear than gold plating. After lots of research, I decided on using this type of metal finishing to ensure there is no tarnishing or discoloration overtime because I want my jewelry to be able to be worn in the ocean, pool, hot tub, shower, etc.
